Trip Overview
It is an excellent trip for those who wish short trek or have limited time for a short and easy trek. Shivapuri is popular for watershed and wild life reserve which is the second highest hill that surround the Kathmandu valley. This trek commences at Budhanilkantha from where you will be able to view the central and eastern mountain ranges, the sunrise and sunset. It also offers a good introduction to Nepalese rural life. The end point of the trek appears with two options either at Nagarkot or Dhulikhel. This trek can be done throughout the year as each season adds beauty and majesty to this trek. The view point at Nagarkot offers memorable experience of the magic of mountains. The village of Nagarkot is on the edge of the valley and offers superb views of the mountains as well as Kathmandu valley.
Day to Day Itinerary
Drive from Kathmandu to Budhanilkantha (Narayanthan) takes about 30 minutes and trek from Budhanilkantha to Shivapuri Lekh (Baghdwar) takes approximately four and half hours.
Trek from Shivapuri Lekh (2523m.) to Dhap via Chisapani takes about five hours.
Trek from Dhap to Nagarkot takes approximately five and half hours. Your trek to Chauki Bhanjyang takes about 2 and half hours.
Trek from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel takes about six hours.
Trek from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha-Panauti takes approximately four and half hours and drive from Panauti to Kathmandu takes about one and half hours.
